Create your account

You need a Ghana mobile number of your own, an email address, someone to name as your emergency contact, and your Ghana Card. You must be 18 or over.

1. Open Lift, tap Continue with phone number and type your number. If Lift is invite-only when you join, the app also asks for an invite code.
2. Type the code we text you. If it doesn't come, tap Send the code again.
3. Add your first and last name and take a selfie. This is the photo the other person checks at the pickup.
4. Add your email and your emergency contact.
5. Accept how Lift uses your Ghana Card, then add the card number, your date of birth and photos of the front and back. Tap Submit for review.
6. Choose I need lifts or I have empty seats. You can add driving later from Profile.

You can tap Do this later at the Ghana Card step, but you can't buy tokens or request a lift until your card is in.

While your card is being checked you can look around and buy tokens. You can request a lift once it's approved. More in Verifying your Ghana Card.
