Verifying your Ghana Card

Everyone on Lift — drivers and passengers — shows a Ghana Card before their first trip. It is what the other person checks your face against at the pickup, so nobody rides with a stranger.

In the app you photograph the front and back, type your name and date of birth as they appear on the card, and take a selfie. You must be 18 or over.

A person at Lift checks it, usually within 4 hours for passengers and a day for drivers. You'll get a message either way; if something needs a retake, the message says what.

Only Lift staff who review identities see your card. Other users never do. The photos are deleted 90 days after the review; the card number is kept. More in the Privacy Policy.
